Using the linkedin-post-formatter skill, turn these notes into a LinkedIn post for a general professional audience: we cut our weekly reporting time from 6 hours to 90 minutes by (1) agreeing on one metric definition, (2) automating the data pull, (3) replacing slide decks with a one-page summary. The key lesson: automation only works after the definitions are agreed.
Skill: linkedin-post-formatter
Read: references/unicode-charmap.md

Here's the post, using the Listicle pattern:

𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟵𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀.

And the automation wasn't the biggest lever.

Here's what we changed:

𝟭. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
One number, one meaning, for everyone. No more debating whose figure was right.

𝟮. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗹
Once the definition was settled, the manual copy-and-paste disappeared.

𝟯. 𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆
Less time formatting. More time deciding.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻:

𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥.

If you automate a process while people still disagree on what the numbers mean, you just produce the confusion faster.

Fix the definitions first. Then automate.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴? 👇

♻️ 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 if this might save someone on your network a few hours a week.

Notes:

  • The lines under each numbered item are my wording, built from your notes. Edit them if they don't match what happened. For example, "no more debating whose figure was right" is my inference.
  • It's about 1,100 characters, under LinkedIn's 3,000 limit. The first two lines work as the "see more" hook.
  • If you have a real example of a metric that was defined differently across teams, add it under item 1. A specific detail like that usually makes the post land better.

Real run in an isolated folder with only this skill installed. Only the Skill and Read tools were enabled, so nothing was fetched from the web and no file was written. The example is fictional. The model opened the skill's Unicode character map before writing the post.
