I'm building a tool that helps freelance translators track client deadlines and invoices. Suggest domain names and tell me which ones are actually available to register.
Skill: domain-name-brainstormer

I checked each name against the registry's RDAP server, which returns 404 when a domain isn't registered. I cross-checked a sample with DNS and whois, and those agreed. This is a point-in-time check, so a domain can be taken before you register it. The final confirmation comes at your registrar's checkout. Premium-priced domains can also look "available" in RDAP and still cost more.

Available .com

Domain Why it works
lingodue.com Short and easy to say. "Lingo" covers translators and "due" covers deadlines and invoices.
translatordesk.com Says exactly what it is, which helps with search. It's long at 15 characters.
glotledger.com "Glot" is short for polyglot, and "ledger" suggests invoice tracking. It's the most brandable of the three.
deadlinelingo.com Clear, though it leans toward deadlines over invoicing.
invoicelingo.com The reverse: it leans toward invoicing.
lingualedger.com Reads as a finance tool.
dueglot.com Short and distinctive.
polyglotdesk.com Friendly, but a little long.
wordflowdesk.com, wordsmithdesk.com, xlateplanner.com Also available. They're weaker on memorability.

Available on other TLDs

  • lingodesk.io
  • glotdesk.io
  • glotdesk.app
  • lingodue.app
  • lingodue.dev
  • translatordesk.app
  • glotledger.app
  • deadlinelingo.app

Taken (skip these)

lingodesk.com, glotdesk.com, duedeck.com, translancer.com, wordledger.com, linguadue.com and tradesk.io are all registered.

Recommendation

  • Top pick: lingodue.com. It's short, pronounceable and has no hyphens. The name ties to both of your features, and lingodue.app is also free if you want to register it as well.
  • Runner-up: glotledger.com. It's more distinctive, but "glot" may need explaining.
  • Most descriptive: translatordesk.com. It's the easiest name for a translator to understand when searching for a tool.

Before you register:

  1. Search trademarks for "Lingodue" or "Glotledger". I haven't checked that.
  2. Check that the social handles are free.
  3. Say the name out loud to a few translators.

I can check more variations, such as other TLDs or different word combinations, if you'd like.

Real run recorded with claude-code / claude-sonnet-5-5. Bash was enabled, and it checked availability using public domain registry lookups (RDAP, DNS, whois). We spot-checked several and they agreed. Availability is as of the time of the check; the registrar's checkout page is the final confirmation. Tool-call lines show only the first line of each command. The model output is unmodified.

What it does

Helps you find a domain name: it understands what you are building, proposes memorable options across extensions such as .com, .io, .dev, .ai and .app, and explains why each works.

How it works

  1. Analyses your project and audience.
  2. Generates creative names, including variations if the first choices are taken.
  3. Checks availability when the agent has a way to look it up, and ranks the results with a top pick and a runner-up.
  4. Adds tips on length, pronounceability, hyphens and numbers, and reminds you to check trademarks and social handles.

Good for

A new project, product or personal brand, or finding alternatives when your first choice is taken.

Worth knowing

The skill text itself does not say how to check availability. In our trial without tools it said it could not check and refused to mark any name as available. With shell access it queried public registry servers and we confirmed several results.

Notes & risks

Pure instruction file: no scripts. Availability checks need your agent to have network or shell access; it then sends only the candidate domain names to public registry and DNS servers (RDAP, DNS, whois). The result is a point-in-time check and premium-priced names can look free, so confirm at a registrar before you rely on it. Trademarks are not checked. The skill folder has no licence file of its own. The licence basis is the source repository's README, which declares the whole repository Apache-2.0 and notes that individual skills may differ. The package also contains LICENSE (the full Apache-2.0 text) and SOURCE.txt (a source and licence-basis note added by AIBars).
