Wonderful's Valuation Doubles to $5B With $550M Round

News Summary
Wonderful, an enterprise AI startup founded in Israel and now also headquartered in Amsterdam, has closed a $550 million Series C round at a $5 billion valuation, more than doubling the $2 billion valuation it reached just six months earlier. The news was first reported by TechCrunch on September 2, 2026, and confirmed by Bloomberg, Tech.eu, and Israeli outlet Calcalist the same day. The round, which also included $170 million in secondary transactions, was led by Insight Partners, with new investor Salesforce joining returning backers Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer Venture Partners.
From Customer Service Bot to Enterprise AI Operating System
Wonderful was founded in early 2025 by CEO Bar Winkler, who previously built and sold the expense-management startup Approve.com to Tipalti in 2021, and CTO Roey Lalazar, who earlier founded the AI-based localization platform Kaps. The company started out building AI customer service agents aimed at non-English-speaking markets, a niche many larger AI vendors had underserved. Over the following months it broadened its scope into what it now calls the "Wonderful AI OS," a platform that coordinates AI agents, automated workflows, and applications across an organization's customer support, internal operations, and back-office processes.
A defining part of Wonderful's go-to-market approach is its use of forward-deployed engineers (FDEs), technical staff who work directly and sometimes on-site with enterprise customers to integrate the platform into existing systems and data pipelines. According to the company, this hands-on model has helped it scale to hundreds of deployed agents, systems, and workflows spanning roughly a dozen industry verticals.
Rapid Growth Metrics
Since its $150 million Series B round in March 2026, which valued the company at $2 billion, Wonderful says it has expanded from a smaller footprint to operating in more than 35 markets worldwide. Headcount has grown to approximately 650 employees, about half of them based in Israel. The company's estimated annual run rate revenue stands at around $70 million, and executives expect that figure to surpass $100 million by the end of 2026. With this round, Wonderful has raised more than $800 million in total funding in under two years of operation.
Investor and Executive Perspective
Jeff Horing of Insight Partners, which led the new round, said Wonderful is "capitalizing on one of the largest opportunities in enterprise AI" by "building an operating system that enables organizations to scale AI across the enterprise." CTO Roey Lalazar framed the platform's flexibility as a key differentiator, noting that "customers can adopt whichever parts of the platform make the most sense, integrate them with existing systems, choose the best models for each workload, and retain ownership of everything they build." That model-agnostic approach, which lets enterprise customers plug in whichever underlying AI models suit a given task rather than being locked into a single provider, has been central to Wonderful's pitch to large organizations wary of vendor lock-in.
What Comes Next
Wonderful said the fresh capital will go toward accelerating product development, expanding its forward-deployed engineering teams, and meeting rising customer demand across its now-global footprint. The company plans to hire hundreds of additional engineers, FDEs, and former founders in the coming months as it pushes further into multidisciplinary AI agents and software development tooling. Salesforce's participation as a new strategic investor is also seen by industry observers as a signal of growing interest from major enterprise software vendors in the emerging market for AI orchestration platforms, an area that has drawn intensifying competition and investment throughout 2026.
